Creepy bunnies

On Saturday we took Isabelle to her first Easter egg scramble--so named because instead of looking for hidden eggs, the kids all ran onto a field at the same time and picked up as many eggs as they could fit in their baskets. Turns out "scramble" is also an appropriate name because when the countdown ended and the whistle blew, instead of running onto the field Isabelle took one look at the giant Easter Bunny mascot and high-tailed it in the opposite direction.

Luckily we were able to steer her back onto the field, where she had just enough time to pick up two plastic eggs with candy inside. Following the egg scramble, Isabelle and all the other children got to choose one free toy (of course she picked a jeweled tiara with matching rings and clip-on earrings, and has been trying to wear "her crown" all weekend even thought it's too big for her). She also enjoyed helping me put together Easter-themed art projects at the various craft tables.

Saturday's egg scramble was just her practice session for an even larger event that takes place this coming Saturday!

Staring at the Easter bunny with concern

Such a big basket for two little eggs!

Watching mommy bust open the egg to retrieve the candy inside

More proof that she found the Easter bunny scary -
she kept putting on this bunny mask and growling at us
