Today was the perfect day to be outdoors - sunny and in the high 60s, not a cloud in the sky. We took a trip to the zoo and spent about four hours trekking around the park. In typical kid fashion Isabelle was not very impressed with the elephants, zebras, polar bears, or other large animals - but she loved the turtles, fish, ducks and flamingos.

She did get a kick out of all the primate exhibits, ranging from the tiny capuchin monkeys to the large orangutans. We were standing right up next to the gorilla exhibit when the baby gorilla, who was about Isabelle's size, walked up and pressed himself flat against the glass. He and Isabelle were literally face to face, the same height, with only 1/2" of glass separating them.
Everyone around us went "Ooohhhhh!" while Isabelle just stared back. And instead of getting scared, she calmly said "Stop it, monkey."
I wish I could've gotten it on video!
