Don't the freaks come out at night?

During the years I lived in Michigan after graduating from Grand Valley, I belonged first to Cascade Gym and later the YMCA. In both cases I had friends who were also members, and we used to chuckle over the weird people who would get ready in the locker room at the same time as us. For example, there was the woman who would put on her makeup and dry her hair while completely naked - except for a pair of pantyhose (with no underwear underneath).

I worked out this morning before work, and during my "getting ready" time I was fascinated by an asian woman who kept flouncing around the locker room from mirror to mirror. After her workout she came in and comandeered a sink in order to wash her face, which wouldn't be worth mentioning except she took a shower afterward... anyway, I couldn't help but notice that she was wearing two pairs of pants that looked like a cross between tights and spandex. The bottom layer was nude, the top layer was black, and they were both shredded like she was on her way to a Motley Crue concert in 1989. One hole exposed a large portion of butt cheek. And these were the pants she had just exercised in.

Eventually we were both packing up and leaving, and I chuckled again to compare myself - dressed in gray pants, heels, and a cardigan layered over a short sleeved top - with the woman wearing a hot pink plaid skirt that flared out like a cheerleader's and barely covered her ass, paired with knee high patent leather boots with stiletto heels. At 7:45 a.m.

She turned and walked in front of me as I started to leave, and I saw that she was wearing a backpack with two interesting items attached. One was a flag that at quick glance appeared to have dragons on it, and the other was a homemade, 8-1/2" x 11" laminated sign that said "Jesus was NOT a white man." Next to that statement was a photo of a human skull, circled in red with an arrow pointing to it, with a caption that read "Jewish skull."

It was so bizarre I literally stopped in my tracks, and then couldn't read any farther because she disappeared from sight.

What a way to start the day!

I remember that woman at the Cascade gym. I haven't encountered any odd people at my new gym.

Wow...that sounds like quite an eventful morning! I haven't had particularly strange people at my gym here, but the weird thing there is that they sell beer! I've seen people hanging out at tables outside the squash courts, drinking beer, several times.
