Isabelle started walking this week. She has been cruising around the house holding onto furniture for six months, but hadn't quite worked up the courage to let go and walk on her own. About six weeks ago we thought she was finally ready, as she suddenly just stood up one night and took three steps forward - but she relapsed and has continued her combination of crawling and cruising...
...until Wednesday, when I walked into daycare after work and she was standing in the middle of the room, waving a toy in the air. Our daycare provider said that out of the blue, Isabelle just started walking from one room to the next instead of crawling. (And I realized she was walking quite well when I told her it was time to go, and she said "no" and ran away from me).
So for the last couple of days she's been walking more and more. She's still a bit tentative and takes her fair share of tumbles, but yesterday she walked all around our cul-de-sac while holding my hand. Granted, it took 30 minutes and she fell about 50 times, but she made it!
Now that she's becoming more confident on two legs, she has started zooming around the house while holding the convertible car/lawn mower toy pictured in this video:

Can't wait to see those little legs move with my own eyes. It's so cute how they toddle/waddle.
What size clothes is she wearing these days?
