Sprucing up the patio

I hate to admit that I've been meaning to buy an outdoor umbrella for our patio table... for a year now. We're technically renting the table and chairs because they belong to our landlord, which is great except the umbrella is missing. And the patio is in direct sunlight for almost the entire duration of the day, which makes it hard to sit out there for any length of time.

So while I've wanted to buy an umbrella, I didn't want to spend a lot of money because when we eventually move out of here we'll have the opposite problem - we'll own a lone patio umbrella but no table and chairs!

Two weeks ago I shopped the clearance section on the outdoor furniture section of Target's website and found an umbrella for only $50! Quite a bargain considering many of the regular-priced umbrellas were $5o0 or more. It finally arrived today and I just finished putting it up. Can't wait to sit outside in the shade for the first time!

The umbrella looks nice - and more importantly, spider free!

When I'm there in a week that means I can grill you guys lunch/dinner and you can sit outside under the umbrella!

Doesn't the umbrella stand go under the table?

Not with this particular umbrella. The only way the holes matched up with the stand, in order to screw it in, was to place the stand on the table. The umbrella pole wasn't long enough otherwise.
