Eight months old!

Isabelle is now eight months old - and she thinks she's a toddler. She started crawling a few days ago; tentatively at first, at first just a few feet here and there....and then yesterday she suddenly started zooming from one end of the house to the other like a little tornado, leaving a path of destruction in her wake.

This evening, in the span of five minutes, she tried to yank down the living room drapes; tear the security alarm sensor off the wall; and rip a cord out of the electrical outlet (of course I was trailing right behind her so she coudn't actually do these things).

We've started the babyproofing process but didn't anticipate that she'd start crawling seemingly overnight, and there are still things we need to secure. For example, we have floor lamps in the living room because there aren't any overhead lights in the living room or dining room, and no place to install any. Obviously the floor lamps are dangerous because she'd be able to pull them over easily and there's no way to hide the cords. So we may have to replace at least two of them by purchasing end tables and table lamps, to keep the lamps out of reach and the cords tucked behind.

Trying to work from home two days a week just got a little more interesting...

I remember when I went to Orlando and left Avery with my mom. By the time I came home, she was crawling all over the place. We had to rush home and baby-proof immediately. No matter what you do to prepare, she'll find the one dangerous thing in the house that you didn't realize was there.
