Seattle-bound

Tomorrow Jason and I are taking our first post-baby vacation together without Isabelle. His friends Phil and Jessica are getting married in Seattle on Friday, so we're flying up tomorrow and staying until Sunday.

It's hard to believe that in all my travels I still haven't been to Seattle, but this will be my first trip there. Although it will be hard to leave Isabelle (I'll feel like I'm missing a limb), I'm looking forward to being in a city that I've always wanted to visit without the responsibility of being a parent. My mom flew here from Michigan yesterday and will be taking care of Isabelle, so I feel more comfortable about leaving her behind.

Part of our weekend is already planned because of the wedding, obviously. Jason is part of the wedding party so he has rehearsal tomorrow afternoon and then we'll attend rehearsal dinner tomorrow night, followed by the ceremony and reception on Friday. Some of Jason's other friends are traveling to Seattle to attend, so it will be a fun couple of days.

On Saturday during the day we're going to play it by ear. We might go to the Experience Music Project or visit some of the tourist attractions like Pike's Place Market. On Saturday night we're having dinner with my old boss and her husband who now live in Everett, WA (not too far from Seattle), which I'm very much looking forward to.

We fly home Sunday afternoon, but I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday. I was smart and took an extra day off!
