Take 2

It's now day two of Isabelle's second attempt to wear her helmet, and so far so good. She wore it at regular intervals yesterday with no problems, and she wore it all last night while sleeping. During her check-up this morning, they shaved down a couple of areas that were pressing just a little too tightly against her temple and behind her ear, which will help ease those pressure points.

The therapist told me that since the weather is getting warmer, it might be best to keep her in just a diaper while she's in the house and make sure there is a fan blowing at night. She also told us that we can take the helmet off once an hour just to dry off her head and immediately put it back on. I thought, "Why didn't you just say so at the first appointment?"

Isabelle and I were outside checking the mail yesterday afternoon when our neighbors pulled into the driveway with their 2-1/2 year old boy. The mom jumped out of the car and said, "Ronan had a helmet too!" So it was nice to hear that her son had to wear a helmet for quite some time, from around 5 months of age to a year old, and the results were quite dramatic. She said his plagiocephaly was so bad it even affected his jaw. And now, you would never know by looking at him!

I think she looks pretty darn cute in it... like she's ready to blast off!

You seem to be handling this so great! She looks soooo sweet in her new gear! It looks like she is ready for anything now...skateboarding...check...bungee jumping...yup. Shoot, you could take her to one of your metal concerts and she can headbang with the best of them!

She's still absolutely adorable. And I love the stickers on her helmet; very cute and girly.

I didn't realize it was an "open air" model. Very nice! She looks like it doesn't even phase her. Still laughin' up a storm!
