The last supper

Jason and I went out for a nice dinner tonight - and knowing our dinners out will be a lot different in the coming years, we purposely went somewhere that would frown upon a toddler who throws food all over the floor :-)

A co-worker had recommended Savory, a restaurant right around the corner from our house. It's in a strip mall so the outside isn't much to look at, but it's cute on the inside and both the food and the service were excellent.

While we were waiting for our entrees (I had the beef tenderloin and Jason had the lamb), the host brought us some free samples of their butternut squash soup, which was really good. And when our waiter found out we're having a baby tomorrow, he treated us to dessert (warm, homemade gingerbread cookies served over orange slices and chocolate mousse).

When he brought our dessert to the table, the waiter said "I have to apologize for the spelling error - our chef is French and forgot to add an 's' on the end." We realized what he was talking about when he set the plate down and it said "Congratulation."

HA! It's the thought that counts. How nice of the restaurant.
