Easy sun protection

In the spirit of summer, I thought I'd blog about my favorite daily moisturizer with SPF. Since we've moved to San Diego I've been careful to wear some sort of sunscreen everyday, because there are literally only a handful of days in the entire year that the sun isn't shining here. Not to mention I am Scandinavian pale.

When we first moved here, regular body moisturizers with sunscreen added were finally coming onto the market - Vaseline introduced the first one, and while I liked the feel of it, it didn't say anything about having broad-spectrum protection, meaning it didn't protect against UVA rays. So I stopped using it and used an oil-free SPF 30 Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen.

However, I'll be the first to admit that I hate wearing sunscreen. It's sticky and I hate feeling like there is a white film covering my body. So I was happy when more skin care companies started releasing competing body lotions with sunscreen.

I've tried all the major ones, including Eucerin and Aveeno, but most of them are still a bit sticky or have a weird chemical smell. In my opinion the best one, hands down, is the Lubriderm lotion with SPF 15. It's not greasy and feels just like regular body lotion, and it has a light scent that's not overpowering. It costs around $6.50 at Target for a 16-oz bottle and is a simple way to make sure you've got minimal protection from your average daily sun exposure...

Eucerin is always really think to me. I tried Lubridem a long time ago and it didn't seam very smooth and was hard to rub in. They must have changed the formula! Good for you for protecting your Finnish skin:)

I will have to try it. I don't like the thick greasy stuff either. I have always stuck with curel becasue of that but there is no sunscreen in it.
