Bringing home the gold... er, silver

Last night was the annual awards dinner for a local professional society that I’m a member of, called Health Care Communicators of San Diego (HCC). I took home a “silver” award in the category called “Less Than a Page Advertising,” which was for a print ad campaign I managed from January – September last year.

As of last night I’m now on the HCC Board of Directors, as Programming Co-chair. That means I’ll help plan the monthly continuing education events and seminars for local health marketing professionals. Some examples of events that took place last year were a seminar about new media (podcasts, blogs, and Web 2.0); a lecture about targeting the Hispanic market; and a breakfast meet-and-greet with local health care reporters.

It should be a good networking experience, and a resume builder…

Congratulations. I can't imagine being in a town with enough health care to have your own society. Very cool. Anne
