Bliss

On Saturday I redeemed my Valentine's Day gift from Jason - a three-hour spa package to Bella D'ora spa in Carlsbad! It was a wonderful visit, which started when I walked in the door and they gave me a complimentary drink menu with an assortment of teas, sparkling waters, champagne and martinis. I was then shown to the locker room, where I changed into a comfy robe and sandals, followed by the best facial I've ever received. At one point during the 90-minute service, while I was lying under a warmed blanket with my hands and feet swallowed in these giant warm booties, I was so relaxed that it felt like I was floating!

After the facial I enjoyed lunch, which was a spinach and pear salad, in the dimly lit "quiet room" that includes several massaging chairs. My next service was a 60-minute hot rocks massage by a masseuse with very strong hands!

I appreciated that this spa had a shower in the locker room complete with towels, washcloths and toiletries like soap, shampoo and conditioner - I was able to cleanse away all the massage oils before changing back into my clean clothes!

I think a twice-annual visit to Bella D'ora is in order from this point forward...
