Since the new rules regarding infant sleep practices dictate that they sleep in a crib with no blankets, pillows, or bumper pads, there aren't a lot of options for keeping newborns warm at night outside of sleeper pajamas and turning up the heat...particularly when both of our girls HATED being swaddled - which I imagine could lead to all kinds of psychosocial theories about their wanting to be free and unrestricted and not bound by rules as they get older... but I digress.
That's why I'm a big fan of sleep sacks. We have a couple of fleece sleep sacks with sleeves that we just zip Olivia into at night over top of her pajamas, to ensure she is toasty warm.
Jason's friend Caleb graciously sent us a couple of baby gifts - including all kinds of newborn Michigan State Spartans apparel - as well as the above sleep sack with a matching hat. She looks so cute I may never take her out of it!
