Santa came to visit the Rancho Carrillo community yesterday, and this picture says it all - Isabelle wanted nothing to do with the big guy in the red suit.
All week long she eagerly anticipated Santa's visit. She was all ready to tell him what present she wanted him to bring (a Strawberry Shortcake house), and yesterday morning the first thing she said when she woke up was, "Do we get to see Santa today?" The second question was, "Can I wear my kitty princess dress?"
We had to wait in line for a chance to sit on Santa's lap. At first she watched the other kids interacting with Santa with great interest. But as we got closer and closer, she started clutching me more tightly - and when we finally approached Santa's seat she threw her arms around my neck and buried her face in my shoulder.
She eventually whispered her gift request to the female elf, but there was no eye contact with Santa and her fingers stayed in her mouth the entire time.
Hey, it's progress - last time she saw Santa she screamed and had tears running down her face...
