'Tis the season for colds... and pumpkins!

Call it Murphy's Law or Tania's Bad Luck, but only hours after Jason left yesterday for a week-long work trip, my daycare lady called and said Isabelle was running a fever, hadn't eaten all day and was very clingy.

When I arrived to pick her up later, I was hopeful because she didn't look that sick - the Tylenol they gave her combined with a rare 2-1/2 hour nap had perked her up - and when I got her home she even asked to have a PB&J for dinner, so I thought maybe it was a fluke.... until she woke up twice in the middle of the night, blazing with a fever and coughing up so much phlegm she was choking on it.

So I'm working from home today with a sick child, which means we're pretty tied to the house. I was hungry this morning and wanted something more pleasing to the taste buds than my normal bowl of oatmeal or toast, so I rummaged through the cupboards and realized I had enough ingredients to throw together a batch of pumpkin scones!

They were quick and easy, and turned out yummy. If you're interested in making a batch, I got the pumpkin and oat scone recipe from the Allrecipes.com website.

Oh, Izz. I'm sorry she's under the weather. Colds are the pits. Sending healing thoughts to SD.
