Moving on - and up!

So I realize the blog has been hiatus for a month - due to many, many competing demands on my schedule, sitting down in front of a computer during my limited free time just hasn't been very appealing. But as of today we're back up and running, so keep visiting for the latest updates!

Part of the reason for our crazy schedules lately has been our impending move. As mentioned in one of my blog posts from last month, our landlord gave us until September 30 to vacate our condo, as she needs to use the space to house some ailing family members. While I had been feeling the itch to find a bigger house, I was nervous that we'd have to settle for something we weren't happy with given that we were being forced to move - instead of finding something at our own leisurely pace.

The good news is, everything has worked out for the best and I am excited to report that we found the PERFECT house. It is a 4-bedroom, 2-1/2 bath detached home with a two-car garage and a private, fenced-in backyard. It's located just a couple miles up the road from where we're currently living - although technically we will now be residents of Carlsbad instead of Encinitas - and is in a really nice neighborhood in close proximity to good schools, walking trails, and a nice community center with a playground and a pool.

We have been making slow but steady progress packing up all our belongings over the last couple of weeks, trying to pack boxes here and there as we have time. Tonight and tomorrow will be the final grueling push as the movers arrive at 8 a.m. Friday to bring everything over to our new home!

I will post pictures eventually, once all of the boxes are finally unpacked and we're settled....
