Our vacation comes to an end

Sadly, Thursday we had to say goodbye to the Wailea Beach resort. It was an interesting day because we had to be out of the hotel by 2:00, but our flight didn't leave until almost 9:00 p.m.

We slept in, had brunch at the hotel, laid out by the pool for about an hour, then packed, showered and checked out. We spent the rest of the afternoon having lunch and stopping in some little shops along the coast where I bought a cute sundress and some jewelry for Isabelle.

We were lucky to get upgraded to first class on our red-eye back to Los Angeles, and thankfully I was able to sleep for most of the 5-hour flight. We had to hang out at LAX for a couple of hours during our layover, and then landed back in San Diego at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

It was the perfect vacation - the kind where you don't want to leave! We would definitely go back to Maui because there are still a lot of activities we'd like to do.... watching the sun rise from Haleakala (the volcano), trying out a zip line, going to Oheo Gulch to see the seven sacred pools...

However, it is nice to be back home with Isabelle! We missed that little munchkin...
