Family photos

For a while now - every since my own wedding, to be honest - I've had this project in mind where I'd enlarge and frame wedding photos of both sets of my grandparents, one of my parents, and one of Jason and I. Of course I don't have copies of any of the old family photos and so I'd forget about the project... but after my grandma Koski passed away last week I got to thinking about a photo of her and my grandpa that's hanging in their living room, showing them on their wedding day back in 1944.

This isn't the exact photo but it's similar - probably taken on the same day - and one that my uncle Fred happened to have and was able to email me. Isn't it great?

Time for me to start tracking down more old photos of the family!

What a beautiful picture of your grandparents. I have a lot of old family photos and have been meaning to enlarge and frame them as well. I think it's a great way to honor those who are already gone and to also remember where we came from. We each have such a unique family history and it's important that we keep it alive to pass along to the next generation. We've been thinking of you guys and knowing how hard it is to lost a grandparent. My grandma passed in 2004, and there is still not a day that goes by that I don't think about her and wish she was still here. Sending lots of love and hugs your way.

I did the same thing with my parnet's wedding picture. PLacing their parents on either side of them and giving copies to each of my siblings.

This is a GORGEOUS photo! And WOW...do you look like your grandma!!! She is beautiful. I love that project idea. I've had the same thing rattling around in my head for years as well! I have a nice black and white 8x10 of my parents' wedding day. I have it in my closet...just no shelf space to prop it up anywhere! Ahh..someday...when we have a house...:-)
