Merry Christmas!

Isabelle had a hard time falling asleep tonight because she chattered nonstop, recounting all of her experiences from throughout the day. She told me stories about George, Playdoh, presents and cookies, which leads me to believe today was a BIG day for her.

The morning started off with Isabelle's first trip to the movie theater - Jason and I took her to a 10:30 screening of "A Curious George Christmas," which was the perfect length at an hour long. Her eyes got huge when George appeared on the big screen, then she started clapping, and then she talked to the screen throughout the entire movie - yelling things like, "Uh-oh!" and "Don't fall, George!" and "Mommy, he made a mess!" (And after dinner tonight, she led me by the hand to the stairs, asked for her shoes, pointed at the door and said "George, mommy?").

Isabelle's movie-going experience must have worn her out because she came home and slept for over two hours while Jason's mom finished cooking Christmas dinner, Jason napped, and I curled up on the couch with a book.

Naturally the best part of the day was watching Isabelle open presents - and it was a treat for my family in Michigan, too, because we set my mom up on Skype so they could watch Isabelle via web cam. She got all kinds of fun gifts including clothing, PlayDoh, a Crayola erasable table and chairs, blocks and puzzles. Probably the surprise hit of the night was a bright pink tutu from my friend Anne. As soon as Isabelle saw it, she asked me to put it on her and she wore it over her jeans for the rest of the night. And after her bath, she put on her PJs - followed by the tutu. In fact, she's upstairs sleeping in the tutu right now...

So glad she liked the tutu --- I was with Anne when she got it so I was excited for Iz to open it and see if she liked it or not. Clearly she does. She looks adorable in it; I love that she even wanted to sleep in it.

Sleeping in the tutu! What a hoot. Kim was a big help in picking it out for her. I wasn't sure what she would think of it. Clearly thinks it was a good purchase. So glad she's enjoying it! I wonder if she'll wear it to day care.
