Fun at Legoland

On Saturday we treated ourselves to a day at Legoland, a popular amusement park that just happens to be roughly five miles from our house. One of Jason's co-workers gave him some free tickets, so we decided to check it out even though we anticipated that Isabelle was still too young for most of the attractions. We were correct - most of the rides were for kids four or five years of age and older, however Isabelle still had a lot of fun in the toddler section of the park.

I'm glad we went, however I don't think I'd go back unless we had another set of free tickets. The toddler section only held Isabelle's interest for so long because it wasn't very interactive, and it seemed to be the least maintained section of the park - some of the water-related activities were broken, and those were the attractions that all of the kids were drawn to. There were some very cool looking rides for the older kids, plus there is an entire water park that we didn't see; however, tickets are around $60 per person, plus parking ranges from $12 - $20... meaning for us to go there once Isabelle is old enough for the rides would easily cost us $200! I'm not quite sure how families afford it, especially if they have more than one child!

So we owe a big thanks to Jason's co-worker for letting us scope out Legoland at no cost!

Isabelle LOVED this attraction. Frogs and alligators made of Legos moved up and down in the water while opening and closing their mouths. She got to shoot water at them using the large green water guns pictured above.

She soaked herself after discovering some water activities. We didn't realize we'd need to bring extra clothes, however it was such a hot day that it didn't really matter!

Legos galore!

Looking through the lion's mouth. Isabelle calls all lions "Alex" after her favorite cartoon character, Alex the Lion from the movie Madagascar.

Isabelle and I riding the toddler train - the one ride she was big enough for!

I like the lion! If only it was a swamp tiger though...
