Is it Friday yet?

Yesterday was a very productive, but very long, start to the week. I've had to take on more responsibilities at work as one co-worker is out on maternity leave and another has been transferred to another team - essentially my team has gone from four to two.

One of these extra responsibilities is public relations, and I've actually had a couple of successful pitches. One of them was a live, in-studio interview at a local San Diego station with one of our sleep specialists and a patient she has treated for sleep apnea. (If you're interested in learning more about sleep disorders, diagnosis, and treatment you can watch the interview here).

Anyway, the good news was that the interview came together at the last minute; the bad news is, I had to leave my house at 6:20 a.m. yesterday in order to get to the studio on time. Normally this would just be a minor annoyance, but yesterday was also the first of a two-night creative writing workshop I'm taking at UCSD - and the class went from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

I enjoyed the workshop - but let's just say by the time I finally got home at 10:00, I crashed!

So glad you're testing those media relations skills:) I am already thinking about having to be at the hospitla at 4:30 a.m. the day we open. I'm hopeful for live interviews on the morning shows.
