Yesterday we took a trip to the Encinitas pumpkin patch to take some pictures of Isabelle and buy a large pumpkin for ourselves (we felt obligated to buy one since Isabelle slobbered all over several mini-pumpkins and gourds).
We also went to the local fly-by-night Halloween store yesterday afternoon to buy Isabelle a costume - she's going to be an adorable fuzzy panda bear for her first Halloween. And last night Jason and I went out for pizza and a movie - we saw Michael Moore's new film, "Capitalism: A Love Story."
Our plan for today was to take a day trip up to a small town in the mountains called Julian - they're famous for their apples and so people drive up there every fall for fresh pie and cider. Since it's an hour and a half drive we thought it would be a good experiment with Isabelle since she hasn't taken a long car trip yet. But when we woke up this morning, Isabelle's eyes were crusted shut and she's got a cough and a slight wheeze in her chest. We decided she needs to stay at home and rest today, so perhaps we can take our trip to Julian next Sunday instead...

Sounds like a fun weekend, minus Isabelle feeling a lil under the weather. She sure seemed to love the pumpkin patch! And what a cute family pic :)
Crusted shut eyes. No fun!
I wondered if San Diego celebrated with pumpkins. Do you ship them in or do they grow there?
They grow here! Lots of local pumpkin patches...
