Back in Cali

I had a very relaxing vacation in the U.P. September 5-12. The weather was gorgeous and I didn’t mind spending a week “unplugged” without TV or internet. Some highlights from the week followed by some photos:

• Family BBQ at my aunt and uncle’s house
• Isabelle getting to know her new best (canine) friend, Chance
• Lots and lots and lots of food – pasties, Congress pizza, steak, burgers, brats, birthday cake, stuffed shells, homemade chocolate chip cookies…
• Isabelle meeting her great-grandma (who kept hinting that the baby would enjoy having a little brother)
• Lakeside bonfire with s’mores (the world’s perfect snack, in my humble opinion)
• Catching up with an old friend on my birthday
• Finally getting to see the *new* Harry Potter movie with my dad
• Not thinking about work
