Jason, Isabelle, Amanda, and Haylee
If it wasn't for the constant mist in the air, yesterday would have been the perfect zoo day because it was cool and cloudy - we didn't have to worry about Isabelle getting sunburned or too hot in her helmet. But the drizzle was heavy enough that we were damp and soggy for the entire four hours we were there.
We met Jason's friend Amanda and her husband and daughter right at 9:00 when the zoo opened, which meant we got to avoid a lot of the mid-day crowds. Both babies seemed to enjoy their zoo experience, although neither was old enough to really care about the animals. Haylee slept for a good portion of the outing and Isabelle was more interested in staring at all the other people walking around. She did, however, seem fascinated by the meerkats - I think because they were one of the few animals that were her size. I think if we could have dropped her into the meerkat exhibit, she would've grabbed one by the tail and then tried to eat it.
