I just realized it’s been a week since I updated our blog! It’s amazing how fast my days are flying by now that I’ve been back to work for a month. And as usual, this past weekend went by way too quickly – but we had a lot of fun.
Margaret, Jason’s mom, is visiting us for almost two weeks; she flew in on Wednesday night and naturally is eager to spend time with Isabelle. This means that Jason and I are taking advantage of having a babysitter!
On Friday night, we went downtown and watched the Michigan State basketball game at a dive bar called the Waterfront. The pros: cheap beer, and MSU won. The con: terrible bar food. It’s hard to mess up chicken fingers and fries, but somehow this place managed to do both.
Saturday was an amazing day that began with me sleeping in until 10:30! I felt SO refreshed. And in the afternoon, I got to read my book for a full 45 minutes while I got a pedicure. I’m used to reading a novel a week, but I’ve been working on the new Wally Lamb novel for a month now. Saturday night, Jason and I went out for a nice dinner at a wine bar and restaurant near our house – I indulged in a filet mignon and mashed potatoes, and a big glass of wine. Mmm. We ended our evening with a movie – we saw “The Reader,” which is a good movie but not something you want to see if you’re in the mood for an uplifting story!
Yesterday was fairly low-key. I went to the gym for a noon training appointment, but spent the rest of the day in the house. Isabelle and I even snuck in a 40-minute snooze on the couch during the afternoon.

I just finished the Wally Lamb book....like his others, Loved it! It was one of those books that was so good that I was hunting for opportunities to sneak in a few minutes to read.
Make sure she saves some good weather for Brooke and I!! hehe
