Jason and I just spent another fun weekend with friends from Michigan. Smitty and Shaphan flew out here Thursday afternoon, and lucky for them the weather was beautiful - sunny without being too hot or cold.
After having lunch on Friday, we all headed to the mall for some shopping. Jason and I decided to each have one weekend night out on the town without the baby, so Friday night me, Smitty and Shaphan went to a nice Indian restaurant for dinner in the Hillcrest section of town.
Saturday we had a late breakfast at one of our favorite diners in downtown Encinitas, then did some more shopping at the Carlsbad outlet mall. Saturday night was my night to stay home with Isabelle, which I was actually looking forward to because it meant I could go to bed fairly early :-) Jason, Smitty and Shaphan met up with Bubby and Sherry downtown for dinner, bar-hopping, and then some late-night Rock Band on the Wii at Bubby's house.
Yesterday we took a trip out to Coronado to see the famous Hotel del Coronado (known as the "Hotel Del") and get some ice cream. By the time we got home, we were all pretty tired so we ordered take-out and watched the Oscars.
Our next visitor arrives on Friday - my brother is flying in from the UP and staying for 8 days! He is also looking forward to escaping Michigan's snow and cold...

I really wish that we were somewhere on the "Friends from Michigan coming to visit" list. We miss you all a lot (and the nice weather wouldn't hurt either).
