My sister escaped from Michigan just in time...

Jessi has been in town since Wednesday last week, meaning she narrowly missed the crazy snowstorms blanketing Michigan. Unfortunately for her, the weather has not been as picture-perfect as usual here - we've had a couple of sunny days in the high 50s, but today is our third day of really heavy rain in a week - our version of winter storms.

Although we've spent a lot of time indoors playing with the baby, we've also been able to escape. Friday we ventured to the mall with Isabelle to do some Christmas shopping, and yesterday we hung out at Borders for a little while and then went to the movies and saw "Slumdog Millionaire." The movie was as good as the reviews say - one of the better flicks I've seen this year.

Jessi is leaving Christmas morning; hopefully the crazy weather has ended, although she probably wouldn't mind being stranded in San Diego for another day...
