This morning Jason and I "interviewed" Dr. Shaw, our potential pediatrician, and we really liked her. She is around our age, was very laid back and friendly, and took the time to answer all of our questions.
We didn't realize until we toured the hospital that we have to have our pediatrician picked out by the time I am admitted, because the baby can't be discharged without a pediatric examination - if we haven't chosen a pediatrician, the hospital will assign one to us.
We both left feeling very confident that we made the right choice. And it will be nice to have already met her when she meets our baby for the first time.

You are very smart for having the baby doctor selected ahead of time. It sounds like that's a requirement in California? It's not a requirement in MI but a very big issue - there's a real access issue. Maybe not in Cali?
