I think it's an economical purchase because it is both a bassinet and a collapsible/portable pack-and-play. You can set it up with the bassinet mattress on the top half, which is connected to some hanging fabric shelves for toys, burp clothes, etc. But if you remove the top half, it's similar to a traditional pack-and-play, just 20% smaller than the standard Graco models. It will be perfect for the baby to nap in when it's small, and of course a convenient play area for when he or she is bigger.
We also ordered our crib and a small dresser from Target yesterday...

That is pretty cool!
cute! (can boy things be cute, officially?)
It turned out very sweet! I'm glad it was easier to put together. I have to admit that I didn't put one thing together for Avery. Chris did it all, so I guess I was lucky. Or, Avery was lucky because I don't like to read the directions and the bassinett would have collapsed around her.
I'm going to let Jason assemble the "big" stuff like the crib and the dresser we just ordered. I've also had him doing all the heavy lifting (the baby's room has been full of unpacked boxes, mostly his, that are too heavy for me to carry all the way downstairs and out to the garage). The room is almost empty and ready to start setting up! Anyway, so I figured I can put together some of the smaller stuff, even though it takes me a while...
I opened this at work and I saw the picture of the bassinet and I said to Lorraine "look at that thing, it sure looks different from what we had" her eyes bugged out......I really like the colors....was also looking at an Amy Butler baby book the other day (same desginer of your diaper bag) and the colors were so neat....no pinks, blues, pastels, stuff similar to the bassinet and to your dipaer bag material....
