It’s been a while since my last post, but we were thoroughly enjoying our trip to the U.P. Tuesday – Sunday, and I didn’t feel like sitting in front of a computer any of those days.
We had a really relaxing vacation, the kind where you forget what day it is.
Tuesday was our most low-key night because that was our travel day, so we had dinner with my mom and sister after getting off the plane and then watched TV for the rest of the night. Wednesday night we watched my sister’s softball game (from the car, because it was cold and rainy), followed by pizza at the Congress – a local favorite. Thursday we took a day trip to Houghton, and Friday we took my family to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Saturday was the nicest day by far – sunny and around 70 – which was great because several of my aunts and uncles got together at Van Riper state park for a cookout (and s’mores over the campfire!).
We got back into town around midnight Sunday, and it was really nice to have Monday off as a holiday to sleep in, unpack, do laundry, and get groceries. Bubby’s parents, Bill and Kris, stayed at our apartment while we were gone because they happened to be visiting San Diego from Michigan that same week. Fortunately their plane didn’t leave until this morning, so last night we got to spend some time with them and have a nice dinner.

I am glad you felt you had a relaxing time while you were home. For my part it was just great to see you both again and spend some time with you.
