Our Trip Home: Part 2

On Wednesday night, December 26, we arrived in Muskegon and celebrated Christmas with Jason's mom. She had a ham dinner waiting for us, which was much appreciated after our long drive downstate.

The next day, we traveled to Jenison to see our friend Kim's new house, and the three of us went out to dinner. Afterward, Kim and I exchanged gifts while Jason played tug-of-war with Brady, Kim's five-year-old golden retriever.

On Friday, we had lunch with Jason's friend Mike, then visited with his friends Jimmy and Katie and their kids. Later that night we traveled through blinding snow to Grand Rapids, where we had dinner with my friend Ron and then met up with Smitty (Amy) for coffee at Kava House in East GR.

Saturday I spent some time in the afternoon with my friend Jessica and her 7-month-old baby, Jackson. Afterward, I met up with Jason and a large group of his friends for a dinner party at Thousand Oaks Golf Club. We had a private room with a private bartender, and a buffet dinner.

And on Sunday night, Jessica hosted a get-together at her house for my group of friends. It was so nice to see everyone. My photos from her party include a picture of Jackson and me (look at how he's trying to cop a feel at only seven months of age!), and a picture of all of us girls (Top row: Tania, Jessica, Michele. Bottom row: Kim, Anne, Janine, Alison) -

Sadly, our trip home ended on December 31. After having lunch with Caleb, we departed for Chicago and flew back to San Diego from O'Hare.

Can you e-mail me your pics? The one of Jack and you is so cute. We will have to print that one and make sure we show it to Jack a lot so he remembers you! It was so nice to see you guys.

I am so sad that we only got to spend such a short (and chaotic) time with you both. Any word on when the next trip here will be? I've been looking up plane fare from Detroit to San Diego. I'm not sure how, but I plan to try to make a trip out there in 2008. We'll see how is pans out! We miss you all!

It was simply wondeful to you and Ross! I look forward to more time together in February. Hopefully I'll be more my normal, silly self by then;-)
