'Tis the season for holiday parties - Jason and I are in the thick of it. Last Tuesday night I attended the marketing department party for my company, which was at the House of Blues in downtown San Diego. There are about 40 of us in marketing systemwide, so it was a good-sized group. We had a white elephant exchange, and I walked away with a Crate & Barrel picture frame and a $15 Target gift card. Yeah!
This past Saturday we attended the marketing department party for Jason's company, which was at his former boss's house. It was low-key and casual - the complete opposite of the party we have to go to this coming Saturday night, for Jason's management team. The party is aboard a ship called The Hornblower, so it's basically a dinner cruise and floating casino.
I bought a cute black dress for Saturday's event:
Next week, I'll probably attend the party hosted by the medical group I work for - since it's being held at the Torrey Pines Hilton in La Jolla, I'm sure it will be a very nice dinner.
The get-togethers I'm most looking forward to will take place when we're home for the holidays. We're having a dinner party with a bunch of our friends (on "Jason's side") at Thousand Oaks golf course on Saturday the 29th, and on Sunday the 30th Jessica and Dave are hosting a party for our friends on "my side" at their house in Grand Rapids.
