comes and the weather turns cool again, so this past Friday I took the day off and Jason took a half day withthe intention of spending an entire afternoon laying in the sun.
Keep in mind that we haven't had a cloudy day here since probably April, and the last two weeks we've had a bit of a heat wave in southern California.
We had decided to check out a state park in Encinitas, which is a cute seaside town northwest of us. Unfortunately by the time we got to Interstate 5, the traffic heading up to Los Angeles was already so heavy that all six lanes were at a standstill. So we turned around and headed back to Torrey Pines State Beach, and when we got there we realized just how overcast it was along the coast.
By the time we had lunch on the beach and read magazines for a little while, the sun had completely disappeared and dark clouds were rolling in. And it was cold!
So we headed back to our apartment, which is about 15 miles inland, and discovered it was sunny and about 15 degrees warmer than the coast. We ended up laying out by the pool in our apartment complex, which is not quite the same but was relaxing nonetheless.

I'm so happy for the two of you. this website thing is pretty cool. Thifa and I are doing well and we might just have to "borrow" your idea... just be on the lookout for my brother. he's out there somewhere now... in San Diego State land.
