If you're looking for a quick weight loss plan, try the stomach flu! For the second time in only a month, I've subsisted on fruit punch flavored Gatorade sprinkled with Tylenol - that combined with my pale skin and the dark circles under my eyes means I can finally realize my dream of becoming a Calvin Klein model!
Someone in the universe is mad at the Masherah family - all three of us were taken down by the stomach flu yesterday. Luckily the onset was staggered by a few hours. I woke up not feeling well, then Isabelle started throwing up non-stop at 3:00, and Jason didn't start getting sick until around the time he went to bed - so he was well enough to do a lot of laundry and take care of Isabelle yesterday afternoon. The problem is, he didn't get any sleep last night.
This morning Isabelle wasn't quite ready for the noisy environment that is daycare, so we kept her home. Fortunately she wasn't in any mood to run around - all she wanted to do was cling to me - so the three of us laid on our couch and love seat watching PBS cartoons for several hours.
I suppose I should be grateful that if we were destined to get sick this week, it happened on a holiday - meaning Jason and I will only miss one day of work instead of two. And it's probably best that we all got sick at the same time... I'm flying to Chicago on Friday for a work conference and won't be back until the following Wednesday, and I would have been a nervous wreck wondering if Jason and Isabelle were going to get sick while they were home alone together. It's hard work taking care of a sick baby all by yourself - and MUCH harder to take care of a sick baby when you're also ill!
