The best laid plans...

I was looking forward to this weekend, because Jason isn't traveling and I was excited about a) having some fun family time; and b) having some time to myself! I'm reading a new book, I'm in need of a pedicure, and I thought it might be fun to lounge by the pool and doze off while reading.

When I got home Thursday night, I learned that Isabelle was sick. She'd started throwing up late in the afternoon while at daycare, then thrown up again in Jason's car on the way home. Then she puked three more times before bedtime, including once in the bathtub.

I worked from home Friday and kept Isabelle in the house most of the day; even though she'd stopped throwing up and I could tell she was gradually feeling better over the course of the day, she was fairly lethargic and didn't have an appetite. So we didn't get a chance to go outside until almost 6:00 p.m., when I could tell she needed to burn off a little energy. So I was feeling a little stir-crazy by the time Jason got home at 8:00.

With Friday behind us, we planned a fun Saturday. Isabelle was back to her normal, hungry self and the three of us had a late breakfast in downtown Encinitas followed by a trip to the playground at Moonlight Beach. And we were planning to attend "family movie night" at Stagecoach Park Saturday night - the Carlsbad Parks & Recreation Department was hosting a community event from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m., with food, games, and activities from 6:00 - 8:00, and then the movie "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" from 8:00 - 10:00.

During the afternoon I started to feel tired, and took a short nap. When I woke up, I was feeling a little bit nauseas but figured it was because it was 4:00, and I hadn't eaten anything since 11:00 a.m. However, I had no appetite!

The three of us had dinner at a local pizza place, where I forced myself to eat some pizza because I still wasn't hungry, and on the way to Stagecoach Park I thought, "Hmmm, I hope I'm not getting Isabelle's stomach bug!"

By the time we got to the park, and walked down to the event grounds, and let Isabelle play, I realized we might not make it through the movie. Sure enough, we'd only been there for 30 minutes when I had to make a run for the bushes and throw up. Nice, hey? So we packed up, went home (where I got sick several more times), then I finally fell asleep around 10:30 - and slept through the night.

The good news? I'm already feeling better. A little shaky and not a huge appetite, but the worst has passed. However, I'm going to lay low today - and cross my fingers that Jason doesn't get it next!!

Oh, no! Bummer she passed the bug to you. I'm glad it appears to be a quick one though. Rest up.
