Isabelle had her 12-month check-up this morning, which became the first of three appointments we'll have over the next month. She was supposed to receive the standard 12-month vaccinations like MMR, pneumococcal, etc. - but our pediatrician was concerned that Isabelle is on day 15 of her second cold in a month, and sure enough she discovered that Isabelle has another double-ear infection.
The bad news is that we have to go back in two weeks so Isabelle can have her ears re-checked and get the vaccinations she was supposed to have today. The good news is, while we were there she was vaccinated for both H1N1 and seasonal flu! Like everywhere else in the country there has been a shortage in San Diego County, but our clinic happened to have a couple doses on hand today.
So we go back in two weeks for the vaccinations that were postponed, and we're supposed to go back two weeks after that so she can get the booster for both flu vaccinations. But, of course, there is a shortage of the booster so we've been put on a waiting list and will receive a call once it's available. Sigh.
Other than that, Isabelle checked out well. She is 20 lbs and 31-1/4" tall, which is the 97th percentile for her height!

Any tears during the vaccine administration?
I'm always freaked out by how they essentially just "stab" the legs on kids. I can't watch it.
Oh, poor thing. Ear infections are the worst.
