My posts have been getting fewer and far between the last couple of weeks because blogging is usually one of the first things to drop off my priority list when my schedule becomes full. I'm currently buried at work, mostly because a member of our four-person team left the organization in July and I'm doing his job in addition to my own. Most days I leave work with my head spinning and not being able to see straight, so I'll be glad when we make an offer to our first-choice candidate (hopefully this week).
Last week was particularly nuts because Jason was out of town Monday thru Friday, bouncing between NYC and Raleigh for work while I juggled a work week full of back-to-back meetings, dropping off and picking up Isabelle at daycare, and of course spending time with her and getting her to bed in the evening. Between that and trying to squeeze in other assorted responsibilities like laundry and cleaning and making myself a somewhat nutritious dinner, the week certainly flew by.
I also took Isabelle for her nine-month check-up on Friday, and the doctor was impressed not only with her size but how well-behaved she was. She is in the 97th percentile for her height! (And the 51st percentile for weight). Our pediatrician asked Isabelle to talk to all the other nine-month old babies and give them tips for how to remain laid-back during their check-ups...
Isabelle is on track with most of her developmental milestones. She's crawling all over the house and can get into the sitting up position all on her own now even when lying on the floor. And on Friday night I saw her try and pull herself up into a standing position for the first time - she wanted one of the toys on her exersaucer and was trying desperately to reach it :-)
I was happy to have Jason return home late Friday night. I spent a couple hours at Borders on Saturday reading my book (which is amazing, by the way) and yesterday we took a family trip to the mall. It was a nice day and we all enjoyed being out and about.
But of course, the weekend ended too soon and it's suddenly Monday again. Jason is out of town Tuesday through Thursday this week and so I'll be a single mom again, at least temporarily...
