Happy Birthday, Jason!

Today is Jason's 32nd birthday! We did most of our celebrating earlier this weekend. Friday night we had some quick-and-dirty Mexican food for dinner and then went to the movies and saw "The Hangover." Sooo funny. Definitely a "guy's movie" with lots of raunchy humor but I can appreciate that. Yesterday we went to a party at my co-workers house for a couple of hours in the late afternoon - she rents an apartment that sits on a high bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which makes me nauseas because her rent is cheaper than ours :-)

Anyway, here are a few things that you may not know about the birthday boy:
  • He is very Type A. Part of the reason we tend to vacation in cities is because he always has to be doing something. Which is funny because while I enjoy visiting new cities, if you give me a book, a bottle of sunscreen, and a frozen adult beverage, I'd be content to sit by the pool for hours.
  • He has very distinct opinions about his wardrobe. He won't wear sweaters or sandals.
  • He is addicted to Starbucks. Not a day goes by that he doesn't enjoy a latte, cappucino, or frappucino.
  • He has never taken a drink of alcohol. Not even a taste.
  • He has broad musical tastes, including old school metal (Pantera), rap (Tupac, Dr. Dre), mainstream generic white guys (John Mayer), and 90s alternative (Pearl Jam).
  • He wears a size 13 shoe.
  • He doesn't read fiction books - only biographies and nonfiction. He's also a slow reader.
  • People constantly tell him he looks like David Schwimmer (the actor who played Ross on "Friends").
  • He has a bachelors degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Indiana University.
  • He is a nerdy entrepreneur who owned his own sports card and comic book store when he was in high school.
  • He takes an annual "guy trip" with several of his closest friends (13 years running) and will probably do this for life.
  • Even though it probably hurts, he lets Isabelle pull his hair every day because it's her favorite thing to do. (If he lowers his head toward her she digs in with both hands and a huge grin on her face).
  • He hates doing yardwork, which is probably the REAL reason we don't own our own home.
  • He shares my love of fine dining and movies.
  • He loves sports, especially football. He's played Fantasy Football with his friends for a long time (roughly 13 years).
  • He would like to own a pet panther.

Happy birthday, Jason!
