Taking advantage of the other grandma

My mom came into town on Thursday afternoon and is staying with us until Friday. Naturally she wants to spend as much time as possible with Isabelle since this is only the second time she's seen her, so Jason and I are again taking advantage of having a babysitter.

Although we still had a fairly early night on Friday, we went out for sushi. We'd both had a long and busy week so were looking forward to going to sleep more than anything else, but it was nice to have a quiet dinner together. Saturday Jason and Isabelle watched the NFL draft together while my mom and I went out for lunch, did some shopping at Target, and enjoyed some coffee and reading in the Borders cafe. That evening, Jason and I went out for dinner and a movie - we saw "Taken," which I'd give a "B" grade.

Yesterday afternoon we had lunch with one of Jason's former co-workers and his wife, at a great little restaurant in Oceanside. The restaurant is in a restored Victorian House that's over 100 years old, and offers a ton of vegetarian and vegan options including homemade organic juice and organic Fair Trade coffee.

It's hard to believe the weekend is already over and we've jumped into another work week!
