Since I've been home on maternity leave, I've started watching "A Baby Story" and "Bringing Home Baby" on TLC while I'm feeding or playing with Isabelle. I'd been aware of the shows prior to having a baby but didn't have much interest in watching them since I wasn't in that stage of my life (and had no desire to watch women in labor!).
Now I can relate to their experiences, particularly on "Bringing Home Baby" because the show documents parents' ups-and-downs for the first 36 hours after bringing their baby home from the hospital (and then they check in with the family a couple of months later). It's interesting to compare our experience with that of other first-time parents.
I just changed the channel to TLC a few minutes ago, and was surprised to see that this morning's episode was filmed at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where we had Isabelle! It was pretty cool to see all the familiar places, like the OR, maternity ward, and post-partum rooms.
