Home sweet home

We've been home from the hospital for four days and it hasn't felt like a huge adjustment even though we suddenly have a third (tiny) person living with us.

When we were in the hospital I had quite a bit of pain from the c-section and could only walk two laps around the maternity ward without collapsing back into bed. But as of Saturday, I feel good as new - hard to believe I had a major surgical procedure a week ago. I haven't felt limited in any way, as far as doing normal housekeeping stuff, although I'm making sure not to lift anything heavy. For that reason, we've moved a lot of Isabelle's supplies from her nursery to the first floor so that I don't have to go up and down the stairs with her. I've been sleeping on the couch next to her bassinet so when she wakes in the middle of the night, everything I need to change and feed her is within reach. Jason took the overnight shift on Friday and Saturday so I could get a decent night's sleep, and I don't know if I've ever slept more deeply!

Margaret, Jason's mom, is the first of our family to have made the cross-country trek from Michigan - she arrived last night and is staying with us until the middle of next week. My parents are coming for a week on Saturday the 6th, and my sister is coming out for a week on the 17th.

So glad you're feeling like your usual perky self. Isabelle has changed already! Isn't it amazing how they change so quick?

I know, she already looks more grown up! She's a little less fragile looking. And it's fun to see her personality start to develop...

Wow, she has definitely changed...and is getting cuter each day. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
