A nursery in progress

Slowly but surely we're getting the baby's room set up. As you can see from this "before" photo, it's been quite a project; when we first moved in we had the movers put all of the miscellaneous boxes that we didn't need to unpack right away in the future baby's room. Over the last couple of weeks we've gotten the boxes moved out and have started setting up the furniture.

I had a dentist appointment Friday morning and needed to be home in the afternoon because our landlord was sending someone over to fix one of our ceiling fans. So I decided to take the day off and finish all my baby errands - I bought a lot of the health and grooming accessories at Target, like baby wash and nail clippers, and purchased a lot of the stuff left over on our registry from Babies R' Us (changing pad, waterproof mattress pad, bassinet sheets, etc.).

Yesterday I started the process of washing all the bedding and some of the clothing... and as of this morning you can see that the nursery is at least in progress now! We need to change the set-up of the room and start decorating, but we're definitely a lot closer now.

And as I started going through all the clothing yesterday, I realize we definitely have enough to get us started - we have piles of newborn-size and 0-3 month onesies, sleepers, shirts, and socks, not to mention lots of receiving blankets. So we're not going to buy any more clothing until we know whether the baby is a boy or a girl and can buy some gender-specific clothes that are not yellow or green!

Wow. Seeing it set up makes it "for real". Fun fun!
